This update closes a critical gap. Recall becomes a place for all your content, including your own personal notes. Historically, Recall has taken a content consumption-first approach to knowledge management: YouTube, PDFs, podcasts, articles. Save it, summarize it, connect it, and chat with it. But this update positions Recall to enable you to also take rich notes of your own: Block-based editing with drag and drop To-do lists Automatic table of contents Tables and code blocks LaTeX support for equations Quick AI actions (summaries, insights) without leaving your note And so much more Create journals. List ideas. Brainstorm. Draft meeting notes. And here's what makes it powerful: use the same AI features to link them to your saved content, quiz yourself on your own notes, and even chat with everything together. Your personal thinking and the content you consume live in one place. A seamless bridge between consumption and creation.

Feature Request: Implement comprehensive metadata storage and display for cards in Recall, with a dedicated metadata tab showing source information, creation dates, and content-specific details. For YouTube videos, capture and display channel name, upload date, video duration, date added to Recall, and uploader account. For images, include EXIF data. For web links, store original URL, publication date, author, and import timestamp. Make all metadata structured and queryable through AI chat interface to enable temporal and contextual searches. Users should be able to query content by date ranges, request chronological reports showing topic evolution over time, and filter information using relative date queries. Currently, Recall lacks visible card creation timestamps and comprehensive source tracking, making it difficult to assess information age and provenance. This feature extends existing card functionality by adding transparent metadata visibility and enabling advanced temporal analysis through natural language queries, addressing the current limitation where users cannot easily determine when cards were created or track information evolution over time.

Good quality AI model better navigation - highlight editor block that it is reading. Support native mobile controls. Ability to listen to card summaries read aloud. I would use this all the time on dog walks or while driving.

When saving a YouTube video, it would be nice if the card displayed the creation date of the video, but especially the video duration in length. Having this information visible on the cards without having to click on them would be especially helpful.

When uploading a long PDF, then you go to read it but get halfway through, when next you load it, you have to scroll from the beginning again. If we could bookmark our current place in that file and return to it, or create bookmarks we could jump to such as those colored arrow stickers you can add to a book (doesn't have to be as fancy as that obviously). I am reluctant to upload a several hundred page PDF I have because of the massive scrolling to get anywhere within it.

. When sharing content, such as a card, it would be great to have the option to restrict access to only the people I choose, rather than leaving the link completely open. Additionally, it would be fantastic to be able to specify whether these people have access as readers or editors.

We've been receiving mixed feedback on whether we should enable an edit mode for the Reader. We'd love your thoughts. Our main concern is that it could create confusion between the Reader and the Notebook, and we feel that original content should remain untouched. What do you think? Should the Reader support edits?

Links to PDF papers hosted online have been removed as of the last upgrade. One of my primary use cases is gathering academic papers so I can read the summaries later and, if I am interested, come back and download it later. Now I have no link.
