AI-Assisted Card Creation for New Entities (e.g., People, Organizations) When Linking
Problem Scenario: When I add a YouTube video to Recall, the AI generates a concise summary. While reviewing it manually, I often want to add links for entities that the AI didn’t detect in the first pass — for example, a person like Aaron Lefohn (Vice President of Graphics Research at NVIDIA). Currently, the workflow is very limited: I highlight the name and click the yellow lightning bolt to create a link. Recall looks for existing cards but usually finds nothing (no other video mentioning the name, no pre-existing card). I end up with a blank card containing just the title (the name) and no further content. At this point: Recall does not help enrich this new card. I have to manually research the person (Google, Wikipedia, other AI tools), copy text, find an image, paste everything into Recall, and only then does the card become useful as a “key entity” card for future linking. This process is time-consuming and breaks the flow of reviewing and enriching content. Proposed Solution: AI-Assisted Entity Enrichment When I highlight a name or concept and create a link that leads to a new card, Recall should offer an AI-powered enrichment option. Step 1: After creating the new card, Recall can automatically suggest: “Do you want Recall to research this entity and add key information?” Step 2: Recall would then use trusted sources (Wikipedia, Bing Search, or its own AI) to: Add a short bio/summary Include key facts (role, affiliation, context) Suggest a representative image if available Provide links to authoritative sources Step 3: The enriched card would then be ready to serve as a hub card for future linking to other content mentioning the same entity. Benefits Faster Knowledge Graph Building: Users can create meaningful, enriched cards in one step without leaving Recall. Better Context: Future links to this entity point to a card that already has a description, sources, and maybe even an image. Improved UX: Reduces manual Google/Wikipedia searches and copy-paste work. Optional Enhancements Let users choose the enrichment source (Wikipedia, AI summary, web search). Allow editing or approving the AI-generated content before finalizing the card. Store sources or references on the card for transparency.

Card and Summary Content Merging
Sometimes more than one article or document may pertain to the same card (i.e., CrowdStrike articles are EVERYWHERE). I don't need 300 cards about the same topic, but each article has a little bit of detail that wasn't in the previous. Solutions: Card Merging: Allow us the ability to create distinct cards for a given topic or tag, but then merge the summaries and tags into the same card after-the-fact. This process could be performed by, and we should be given the option to either a. appending one summary to the other, or; (makes content long, but retains original links and summaries) b. merging summaries into some coherent, detailed summary of all linked documents (may lose some links and context) Content Merging: Allow us the ability to add additional links and documents to the same card and update the summaries based on the context from all given documents. This process could be performed by, and we should be given the option to either: a. Creating separate header sections for each reference pertaining to the same card (i.e. heading separation of distinct summaries of each resource) b. Developing summaries based on the content of all supplied reference material. Content Extrapolation: The idea behind this software, at least for me, is that it allows me to see connections where I didn't originally see them. Rather than feeding everything into the same card, extract the content from the supplied reference, and a. extrapolate and append summary sections into existing cards where it makes sense b. create new cards for summary content where existing cards don't exist.
