- Timeline animation- Visualize how your knowledge base grew over time. Use the date range slider to filter nodes by creation date, or press play to watch an animated timeline of your knowledge evolution.
- Graph search- Instantly find and zoom to any node by searching card names.
- Connection depth control- Adjust a slider to show 1, 2, or 3+ degrees of separation, revealing indirect relationships between ideas.
- Node coloring- Automatically color-code nodes by tags. Hover for tooltips showing topics, customize colors in settings.
- Multi-select & bulk actions- Hold Cmd/Ctrl and click to select multiple nodes, then perform bulk operations like deletion.
- Graph presets- Save filter settings, color schemes, and layouts as named presets. Switch instantly between different views of your knowledge.
- Graph settings- Fine-tune node spacing, link forces, gravity, and visual options through a dedicated settings panel.
Single Card Graph
- Fullscreen mode- Expand the local graph into a dialog for detailed exploration without leaving your current card.
- Depth slider- Control connection levels (1-3 degrees) to see either direct links or a wider neighborhood.
- Trajectory tracking- Navigate between connected nodes while tracking your path, just like in the full graph.
Card Search (Cmd+F)
- Full-text search- Press Cmd/Ctrl+F on any card to search across all content: Notebook, Reader, and quizzes.
- Navigation controls- Use arrows or Enter/Shift+Enter to jump between matches.
- Cross-tab search- Results span Reader and Notebook content, finding information wherever it lives.
- PDF search- Search within PDF documents with highlights applied to matching text.
UI/UX Improvements

This release is a huge step for Recall. We started Recall with a focus on the content you consume: summarizing, saving, and organizing organizing YouTube videos, podcasts, TikToks, articles and PDFs. Now we're expanding to the content you create. While you've always been able to take notes in Recall's notebook tab, the editor was basic.
Today, we're launching a major upgrade with
a new block-style editor
.Why this matters:
Recall is now a space where your saved content and personal notes work together. Study notes with complex equations. Meeting notes. Daily journals. Project planning docs. All in one place, with AI that understands the full picture. Chat with your notes, summarize them, generate quizzes, and automatically connect ideas across everything you've saved and written.Check out this video where co-founder Sankari and the engineer who built the editor Mason do a demo.
Quick heads up: This is a raw, unscripted demo with some lag and quality issues. We wanted to get this out quickly. Hope you enjoy it!
Block-Style Editor
A new block-based note-taking system where each piece of content is an individual, movable unit.
Core functionality:
- Type /anywhere to access the block insertion menu
- Click +to create a new block below (hold Option/Alt ++for block above)
- Click ⋮⋮to transform blocks between types (e.g., paragraph → bullet list)
- Drag and drop blocks using the ⋮⋮handle to reorder content
Important change:
The way you create connections from the notebook has changed. Previously, you typed /
to create connections, but that now opens the rich text editor menu. **To create connections from the notebook, use [[
instead.**Available block types:
Basic blocks:
- Text blocks
- Six heading levels (H1-H6)
- Quotes and callouts
Lists:
- Bulleted lists
- Numbered lists
- To-do lists with checkboxes
Organization:
- Auto-generated table of contents (based on headings)
- Collapsible toggle sections
Advanced blocks:
- Images
- Tables with resizable columns/rows and cell background colors
- Code blocks with syntax highlighting (supports Bash, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, JSON, Markdown, Python, Shell, TypeScript)
- LaTeX equations (inline and block-level)
Editor Access Points
The editor is available in:
- Create a new note- by clicking the pen icon (✎) next to the Add Content button in the top right corner of the home page.
- Notebook tab- every saved content item (videos, podcasts, articles, PDFs) has an editable Notebook tab for contextual note-taking
- Browser extension- full editing capabilities in the extension interface

Bulk tagging is finally here (with more bulk actions coming soon) and we've given the mobile experience some much-needed attention.
Whats New in Recall
Bulk Tagging from Card List View
You can now tag multiple cards at once directly from the homepage view, making it faster to organize your knowledge base. We know the flow from search → homepage → bulk action isn't quite seamless yet - we're working on it!

Mobile Enhancements
We've made significant improvements to the mobile experience:
- Fixed blank screen issue when sharing content to Recall via the share sheet
- Enabled screen rotation on the mobile app
- Share PDFs straight to Recall from your mobile device to quickly capture important documents.

Bug Fixes & Improvements

This is a super exciting update! We've redesigned Recall Cards to give you more control over your layout and a much better reading experience with adjustable font sizes across the app.
What's New
Recall Card Redesign
- Customize your tabs by dragging and dropping them into place:Rearrange your Reader, Chat, Quiz, Notebook, Connections, and Graph View tabs in any order that suits your workflow. Simply drag tabs into place and they'll stay exactly where you want them.

- Expanded Reading Space:We've optimized the split screen layout to give your content more breathing room. The reader and right-side tabs now occupy more screen space, reducing distractions and helping you focus on what matters.
- Flexible Split View:Take full advantage of your screen real estate. Now you can move any tab to the right-hand panel. Compare sources side-by-side, keep chat open while reading, or reference your notebook alongside connections—the choice is yours.

Improved Readability
There is a lot more to come to enhance the reader experience. We want reading to feel simple and clean, this is a first step.
- Global Font Size Adjustment:Customize text size across Reader, Notebook, Chat, Quiz, and Graph View. Adjust this in your settings or on a card in the top right corner of the screen.
- Fixed Image Flickering:Resolved an annoying visual glitch where images would flicker while scrolling in the reader. Your reading experience should be smooth and distraction-free.

Bug Fixes
- Android Typing Issue Resolved:We've fixed the jumping bug that affected Android users when editing cards and notes. Typing should now feel responsive and natural.
- Smarter Chat Retrieval:Enhanced the chat experience for notebooks with limited content. Previously, chat responses could be less accurate when working with smaller notebooks. We've improved the retrieval algorithm to provide better, more relevant answers regardless of notebook size.
Coming Soon

What We’re Working On
A Better Reading Experience
We’re developing a comprehensive update to transform the Reader into a full-featured read-it-later application, including highlights with comments.
A Better Mobile Experience

- Faster sharing with immediate save to Recall (without requiring content to load).
- A cleaner UI with many small but impactful wins (e.g., PDF zoom, adjustable font size).
Bulk Tag Management
While there are many ways to add content to Recall, we need better ways to manage it once it’s there. The next step will be adding the ability to apply or remove tags from multiple cards simultaneously in the card list view.
Chat Improvements
Chat will continue to be a primary focus, with upcoming enhancements such as custom prompts and improved workflows to save chat content directly to a new notebook.
